1. Who we are
GymShot is a free app (website gymshot.fit and its Android app) that lets you save links to videos from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and other sites so you can watch and try them later. “We” means the GymShot developer.
2. Data stored on your device
Everything you save is stored only in your browser’s storage on your phone (local storage and IndexedDB):
- the links you save, their titles, groups, tags, notes and “tried” / “favorite” status;
- cover pictures and screenshots you add;
- your settings, such as the chosen style (GymShot or Later, Babe).
We do not receive or keep a copy. If you clear your browser data, uninstall, or change phones, this data is deleted unless you made a backup with ⋯ → Export backup. Backup files are created on your device and you decide where to keep them.
3. Looking up covers and titles
When you save a link, the app fetches its public cover picture and caption so you can recognize it later:
- TikTok and YouTube links are looked up directly with those services’ public oEmbed endpoints;
- Instagram, Facebook and short TikTok links are looked up through our own small server functions, which read the post’s public page and return the cover and caption.
Only the link you saved is sent for this. It is not linked to you, not stored by us, and not used for anything else. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may keep short-lived technical logs (such as request time and address) for security and reliability. Private, age-restricted or removed posts are not accessed.
When you open a saved video, it opens on the original platform (Instagram, TikTok, etc.), whose own privacy policy then applies.
4. Usage statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits (for example, how many people opened the app today and from which country). It does not use cookies, does not identify you, and does not track you across other sites or apps.
5. What we don't do
- No accounts, passwords or sign-in.
- No advertising, ad tracking or selling of data.
- No access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone or photos (except a picture you choose yourself as a screenshot).
- No logging in to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook on your behalf.
6. Sharing
When you tap Share on a saved video, the app hands the link to your phone’s share menu; you choose who receives it. We don’t see what you share.
7. Children
GymShot is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Your choices
You can edit or delete any saved item in the app at any time. Deleting the app’s data from your browser or uninstalling the app removes everything we described in section 2.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
